Every Mother Counts

Every Mother Counts is a mother-led organization with a mother-centered mission. We believe that every mother’s life has equal value and every mother should have every attainable option when choosing when, where, how and with whom she receives her maternity care. Our role as an organization is to advocate for every woman who enters motherhood to ensure safe and respectful maternity care, especially the most vulnerable and unsupported. We know that the participation and leadership of the people most affected by a problem are as crucial to the solution too, not just as a means to success, but as a matter of equity.

Every Mother Counts is educating the public about a global tragedy with enormous implications on us all. It is big challenge, but one with evidence-based solutions. The more people who recognize this issue and who have the power or influence to contribute, the faster we can end these senseless deaths and disabilities related to pregnancy and childbirth. Everyone who has thrived in their lives and careers because of the love and care of a mother can contribute to our mission. Every Mother Counts’ goal is to engage and arm individuals with information and the opportunity to take meaningful actions such as running races, viewing and sharing films and other visual or interactive content, attending events, on-site visits in the field, and participating in product partnerships.
