Sheryl Sandberg

Sheryl Sandberg is Chief Operating Officer at Facebook, where she oversees the company’s business operations and helps it scale and expand its global footprint. She began her career working with Larry Summers at the Department of the Treasury. After 5 years at the Treasury and having receiving her MBA from Harvard Business School, Sandberg joined Google as Vice President of Global Online Sales & Operations. Under her tenure the company experienced a spectacular increase in sales. In 2008 she began working at Facebook. Sandberg is the author of the bestsellers 'Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead' and 'Lean In for Graduates' and founder of LeanIn.Org, a global community committed to empowering all women to achieve their ambitions. Under her leadership, LeanIn.Org has become a global movement to encourage women to lean in to positions of leadership. Sandberg believes that by having more female voices in positions of power, there will be more equitable opportunities created for everyone. She serves on the boards of Facebook, the Walt Disney Company, Women for Women International, ONE, and the Center for Global Development.
