Craft Capital

Model and Strategy

Now more than ever, San Francisco is at a social and economic precipice - in the face of great wealth being generated locally, middle and working class families are finding it increasingly difficult to survive. But urban manufacturing now holds the potential to be a true game-changer, providing pathways to employment, new skills, and even business ownership for diverse inner city residents. SFMade seeks to implement and scale its catalytic program: CRAFT CAPITAL. Craft Capital will build new networks to connect individual investors - themselves members of the San Francisco community - with growth-stage local manufacturers. Through Craft Capital, over the next 3 years, we will together drive $50M in new investment capital to San Francisco manufacturers, in turn creating jobs and economic stability - from youth and adults from low income households to veterans to immigrants. Craft capital: connecting capital with craft, transforming our city.

Impact

Tap into the community of individual qualified investors living and working in the Bay Area who have a passion to invest locally
Work with local manufacturers to better describe their offering in a way that is compelling and visible
Galvanize a new network, providing direct linkages between individuals living or working in San Francisco in other sectors and local maker-manufacturers in their own community
