Calle 24 SF Latino Cultural District

Protect, Preserve, And Enhance The Calle 24 Latino Cultural District

Model and Strategy

This project seeks to preserve, enhance and advocate for Latino cultural vitality and community in San Francisco's Latino Cultural District and the greater Mission. Calle 24 envisions the Latino Cultural District as an economically vibrant community that is inclusive of diverse income households and businesses that together embrace the unique Latino heritage and culture of 24th Street and celebrate Latino cultural events, foods, businesses, activities, art and music. The ultimate goal is to create a safe, clean and healthy environment for residents, families, artists, and merchants; to foster an empowered, activist community that takes pride in our diversity; to create a beautiful, clearly designated Latino corridor along Calle 24; to ensure stable, genuinely affordable and low-income housing; to establish and manage guidelines for development and economic change that preserve the District's Latino community and culture; and to foster a sustainable local economy that provides vital goods and services.
