BRIDGE’s vision for Potrero is that community development efforts will successfully integrate communities and support residents to break the cycle of poverty. With expanded support, BRIDGE can accelerate investments to advance this vision, including an onsite community center, child care center, and other community amenities that serve as hubs for support, community building, and services.

The long term goal of this project is to build career ladders that help clients get training to access employment, to provide training to support advancement, and to work closely with employers and community colleges to build systems that braid training and work experience allowing clients to earn while they learn, and earn credits that support acquisition of certificates to support their professional advancement.

PODER's aim is to help build San Francisco's next people-centered economy. Low-income communities of color and immigrants are a valuable resource for the City's future. By supporting economic development alternatives, such as cooperatives and social enterprises, we can tackle the worsening income inequality and accelerating mass displacement by fostering a healthy, thriving local economy.

As a leader in workforce development and training, YCD feel that solar design and installation training will continue to provide inner city youth and adults the opportunity to effectively succeed within today's growing green industry — allowing them to live viable and sustainable futures for themselves and for their families.

While crafting a strong Plan Bay Area is an essential first step, additional funding would allow provisions of PBA-including local plans, policies, projects, and funding mechanisms — to be implemented in San Francisco and other cities. With good planning coupled with implementation, San Francisco and the Bay Area could become a model for other metropolitan regions across the nation.
