Reverend Miguel Bustos
Manager of Racial Reconciliation and Justice, The Episcopal Church , The Episcopal Church
Born and raised in the Mission District of San Francisco, Reverend Miguel Bustos has a unique blend of public and private sector experience, transforming challenges into opportunities. In 2023, Rev. Bustos was appointed The Episcopal Church’s manager for Racial Reconciliation and Justice for the United States and in Latin America. Prior, he was Chief of Global Initiatives and Director of GLIDE’s Center for Social Justice.
Before joining the team at Glide, Rev. Bustos was director of government and community relations at Wells Fargo (2012-2018) and senior program manager at the Levi Strauss Foundation (2010-2012). He was a founding member of Calle 24, San Francisco's Latino Cultural District. For 13 years, he served on the City of San Francisco's Commission on Community Investment and Infrastructure, the office responsible for planning and implementation of complex public/private economic development, affordable housing, and workforce development projects. He spent years as a strategist, advisor, and staff leader in the Clinton White House, with Vice President Al Gore and Mrs. Tipper Gore, and with Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums and Congresswoman Barbara Lee.
Rev. Bustos is on the Board of the MTV Staying Alive Foundation and is an Emeritus Board Member of Hispanics in Philanthropy. He also serves at Cathedral Deacon at San Francisco’s iconic Grace Cathedral.
