Model and Strategy
SCORES aims to reach 3000 promising youth at more than 100 Bay Area public schools and community centers over the next two years, offering a unique mix of team-based activities led by caring and professional coach-mentors.
SCORES fervently believes that childhood should be a joyous time with opportunities to play, learn and grow. Our out-of-school program offers youth the opportunity to be part of a soccer team, develop their own unique voice using art and poetry, and make a difference in their communities with youth-led service learning projects.
Our whole child approach allows for individual expression and social connection while developing healthy bodies, hearts and minds. First and foremost, youth have FUN at SCORES. With SCORES, youth build developmental assets that have been identified as critical to becoming healthy, caring and responsible adults.
Before the pandemic, SCORES was serving 1,500 students across San Francisco, Oakland, Hayward, San Rafael and Daly City, but our numbers dropped significantly when we transitioned online. SCORES is working with school and district partners to double that number and increase our impact when we return to in-person programming.
