Aimee Eng was elected School Board Director for Oakland Unified School District in 2014 representing District 2. In her role on the Board, Eng has served as Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee and as the Board Liaison to the District's Bond Oversight Committee, Citizens Advisory Committee on Special Education, and the City of Oakland's Education Partnership Committee. In addition to her role on the School Board, Eng served as the Vice President of Programs at the Thomas J. Long Foundation where she oversaw a $90 million grant making portfolio in the fields of Education, Disability Services, Senior Services, Safety Net Services and Capacity Building initiatives in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.

As the granddaughter of the first elected Chinese American City Councilman in Oakland, Eng has remained active, volunteering with the local Chinese and Japanese American communities in the Bay Area. Eng holds a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Wesleyan University and a Master of Arts in Education Policy, Organization, and Leadership Studies from Stanford University.
