Worldwide Expansion Of Mama Hope's Global Advocate Fellowship

Model and Strategy

Worldwide Expansion of Mama Hope's Global Advocate Fellowship. The expansion of the Global Advocates (GA) Program will allow Mama Hope to scale its proven model of Connected Development to communities living in extreme poverty throughout the world.

Mama Hope's Connected Development model consists of three pillars: 1) Listen to local leaders' sustainable solutions to end poverty in their communities 2) Connect them to funders who can support their vision 3) Enable these sustainable projects to be built by the community. The model has been proven in Sub-Saharan Africa where Mama Hope has matched over 35 Global Advocates with visionary community leaders and completed 30 healthcare, education, food and water security projects that are enabling communities to pull themselves out of poverty. Mama Hope recruits and trains the Global Advocates in a 9 month fellowship program with the goal of creating a new generation of global leaders trained in the Connected Development model, which is focused on sustainability and holistically addressing the root-causes of extreme poverty.

By successfully expanding the Global Advocate Program beyond sub-Saharan Africa and partnering with affiliates that can train Global Advocates worldwide, Mama Hope can exponentially increase the number of Global Advocates trained and sustainable projects completed, helping to eliminate extreme poverty in the developing world by 2030.

Impact

Serving 50,000 people over the next two years, while establishing the infrastructure to impact far greater numbers in the future; expanding the model from Africa to communities worldwide over two years.
Training 20 Advocates and partnering them with visionary local leaders. Each Advocate will raise $20k or more, resulting in at least $400K to directly fund community-identified projects. These projects will include: health clinics, schools, clean water systems and agriculture.
Utilizing100% local resources and labor to build and manage all projects.
Ultimately supporting local economies and ensuring sustainable community ownership and continuity of the project over the long term.
