Ralph Smith

Ralph Smith is the managing director of the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, a national initiative that seeks to ensure that children reach the critical developmental milestone of reading at grade level by third grade, or age eight. Coming from a background as a corporate and securities lawyer, Smith’s approach in building early education allies values cross-sector collaboration. The Casey Foundation focuses their investments in efforts to help low-income parents succeed economically while improving access to high-quality early childhood learning to give all children a strong start.
