Rhett Butler

Rhett Butler is the founder and CEO of Mongabay.com, a non-profit environmental news platform that publishes original stories in English, Spanish, and Indonesian. Mongabay's network of 250 journalists in 50 countries covers a wide range of issues related to forests, including special reporting projects on conservation effectiveness, commodity supply chains, and emerging technologies to monitor and protect wildlife and ecosystems. Rhett is the first and only journalist to win the Parker/Gentry Award, a conservation prize given annually by the Field Museum in Chicago.
