A trained USTA facilitator and Safe Play–certified volunteer, she was honored as the 2024 Section Champion of Equality at the US Open and is a member of the USTA NorCal Volunteer Hall of Fame.

Martha previously served on the board of the Federation of Gay Games from 2012 to 2021, helping oversee two international Gay Games and participating in both the site selection and steering committees, working with sports authorities in Cleveland and Paris. She also served as Co-chair of Tennis Coalition SF, where she helped lead the $27 million renovation of the Golden Gate Park Public Tennis Center, coordinating community engagement, donor outreach, and collaboration with the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department. She remains involved in long-term planning efforts to expand public pickleball access while preserving tennis courts in San Francisco.

In addition to her sports-related leadership, Ehrenfeld serves on the boards of the Family Leadership Center in Yarmouth, Maine, and the Central Lincoln County YMCA in Damariscotta, Maine. She is also a certified Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) coach and co-founded DinkSF, a pop-up pickleball organization in San Francisco.

A former elementary science and computer teacher, Ehrenfeld and her wife divide their time between Round Pond, Maine; Jupiter, Florida; and San Francisco. In San Francisco, she leads her neighborhood association, Inner Sunset Park Neighbors, and teaches beginner bridge both online through Planet Bridge and in person in Maine during the summer.

Beyond tennis and pickleball, Ehrenfeld has participated in ice hockey and volleyball and is currently exploring padel. She also enjoys cooking and entertaining—and is learning to DJ.
