Karla Martin is President of Common Sense Media, a leading nonpartisan organization focused on helping kids and families thrive in a world shaped by media and technology. Through research, advocacy, and practical tools for parents and educators — including its widely recognized age-based reviews and ratings — Common Sense promotes safe, healthy, and responsible digital engagement.
A seasoned operational executive, Board member, and strategic advisor, Karla has over 20 years of experience of creating and driving strategies that help companies, start-ups, and non-profits through all stages of growth with a strong emphasis on driving technology led transformations. She brings deep expertise in transformative AI business models across
organizations in NA, EMEA, the Middle East and China/Asia.
Karla has held executive leadership roles across large corporate organizations (e.g., Deloitte, Google), as well as mission driven not-
for-profits (e.g., Center for Reproductive Rights, Project Glimmer, Project Healthy Minds). She has published extensively on strategic transformation, Technology/Innovation/AI, and organizational effectiveness. She brings a strong passion for providing all educators and families with tools that help children safely realize their full potential.
Karla has an AB with honors in Sociology and Economics from Harvard University and a JD with honors from Harvard Law School.
