Loris Mattox is Executive Director of the HIV Education and Prevention Project of Alameda County (HEPPAC), which helps stop the spread of HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C and reduces the harm caused by injection drug use through prevention, education, care, and treatment.
Loris began her harm reduction work in 2000, working in San Francisco's Tenderloin and Bayview Hunters Point communities where she provided HIV education and testing services. She has been with HEPPAC since 2004 and this is her ninth year as Executive Director. Loris also conducts harm reduction trainings for law enforcement agencies.
