Dr. Andrew Herring

Dr. Andrew A Herring graduated from Harvard Medical School and completed residency in emergency medicine at Highland Hospital—Alameda Health System in Oakland, CA where he continues as an attending emergency physician and Associate Director of Research. He is also Medical Director of the Highland Bridge Clinic and Substance Use Disorder Program. Dr. Herring’s current research focuses on emergency department treatment of opioid use disorders and pain management. He is an active researcher within the NIDA Clinical Trials Network and Lead investigator for NIDA CTN-0069-A-1 and a co-investigator NIDA CTN 0099 (ED-INNOVATION).
Dr. Herring is the Principle Investigator of the California BRIDGE Program and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. He has conducted health policy research as a Fulbright Scholar in Central America.
