Our vision is that parents won’t have to bury any more of their children; that young people who were once derailed by drugs and alcohol can lead lives of meaning and purpose; and that through our efforts, whole communities can begin to heal.

Medical treatment for addiction can save lives. But in most communities it is easier to get drugs than treatment. Our goal is that by 2023 anyone in California will be able to walk into an emergency room at any time, day or night, request treatment for opioid addiction, and get it. No stigma, no judgement, no punishment. And by 2025, this will be true for all substances.

Phoenix aims to increase the number individuals sustaining substance use disorder recovery in San Francisco by creating an accessible, inclusive, and visible recovery community. By combining fitness activities with a commitment to high quality peer-led programming, we will help people build the emotional strength and peer support network needed to sustain sobriety and thrive in long-term recovery.

No one will be arrested, denied treatment or subjected to forced treatment or family separation because they are addicted to drugs, pregnant, or sought help. Public health and harm reduction approaches work best for everyone including pregnant women and their babies. We will vanquish fear and misinformation about addiction and pregnant women that undermine treatment and recovery for everyone.
