Battery Powered Awards $1.05M to San Francisco Resurgence

Battery Powered is excited to announce the grants made under its San Francisco Resurgence theme! Our giving circle granted $1.05M to ten extraordinary organizations that are making San Francisco a culturally vibrant, economically robust, and livable city for all.

We are honored to support the critical work of the following organizations:

SAN FRANCISCO RESURGENCE GRANTEES

Civic Joy Fund

$241,193 to team with local artists, musicians, small businesses, community leaders, and volunteers on diverse activations that assist in the economic recovery of our city, build civic gathering spaces, and bring energy and enthusiasm to our streets.

 

La Cocina

$250,100 to cultivate low-income food entrepreneurs – especially women of color and women from immigrant communities – by providing affordable commercial kitchen space, technical assistance, and access to market opportunities.

San Francisco Housing Development Corporation

$152,168 to revitalize the Fillmore as a thriving hub for Black-owned businesses and cultural experiences through business training and support, affordable commercial spaces, community engagement, and cultural programs.

 

SF New Deal

$250,000 to revitalize downtown as a dynamic, thriving neighborhood through strategic investments in small business development and growth, vacant space activation, creative placemaking, and infrastructure improvements.

 

Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation

$104,088 to empower Tenderloin residents to have a consequential voice in community issues that affect them, and to convene residents, businessvand political leaders, and nonprofits to advance equitable policies for neighborhood livability.

 

In addition, grants of $10,000 were made to each of the following extraordinary organizations: Angel Island Immigration Station + Oakland Ballet, Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco, Inner Sunset Neighborhood Resurgence Collaborative, The Roxie Theater, and San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Company.
