Battery Powered Makes Awards of $1.51 Million to Homelessness
The Battery Powered community collectively awarded $1.51 million to organizations working on solutions to homelessness in San Francisco.
On any given night, 7500 people are experiencing homelessness in our city. The solution to the crisis confronting each of these individuals and families begins with housing, but the path they take to get there and their needs for support vary. The Battery Powered community set out to support organizations offering evidence-based solutions that respect the innate dignity of those experiencing homelessness. We are pleased to introduce the recipients of a Battery Powered award under our Homelessness theme:
Brilliant Corners $250,000 to launch a platform that rapidly scales access to supportive housing in a coordinated effort across service providers and in partnership with the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing.
Hamilton Families $129,500 to help families move beyond homelessness toward long-term financial stability through their Heading Home Phase 2 program
Homeless Prenatal Program $250,000 to increase career pathways out of homelessness for low-income women and their families through the Community Health Worker training program.
Larkin Street Youth Services $250,000 to support capacity-building for Larkin Street’s education, employment, and behavioral health services for youth experiencing homelessness.
