Gun Policy Primer

Most Americans, including most gun owners, agree on several policies that would prevent guns from falling into the hands of those with dangerous intent toward themselves or others. Nevertheless, most of these policies are not in place at the federal level nor in most states.  California is a leader in gun safety policy, holding the only "A" grade for its guns policies from the National Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence. Below is a checklist of key policies and their status at the federal level and within California.
