Battery Powered Awards $1M to The Education Continuum
Battery Powered is excited to announce the grants made under our Education Continuum giving theme. As a community, our giving circle raised and granted more than $1 million to ten extraordinary organizations that are helping students overcome obstacles and stay on track to succeed in school and to thrive.
We are honored to support the vital work of these grantees.
EDUCATION CONTINUUM GRANTEES

$142,379 to deliver a project-based, STEM-driven summer program for low-income middle schoolers in the Bay Area and Northern California, focused on academic readiness for high school, social-emotional growth, and career exploration.
$220,813 to empower first-generation students from historically underserved communities to matriculate to and graduate from college by providing 10 years of wraparound support integrating academic support, social-emotional wellness, college and financial advising, and career development.

Junior Achievement of Northern California
$128,852 to deliver real-world math and financial literacy curriculums to students in high-need Bay Area high schools, equipping students with practical money management and workforce readiness skills.
$250,000 to expand research-backed, volunteer-driven, one-on-one literacy tutoring for K-4 students across the Bay Area through in-person and virtual models.
$209,965 to deliver high-impact literacy tutoring to K-5 students in San Francisco Unified School District schools that are not yet meeting third-grade literacy standards.
In addition, grants of $10,000 were made to each of the following extraordinary organizations: Fresh Lifelines for Youth (FLY), MEDA, Oakland Genesis, Peninsula Bridge, and SEAL.
