Battery Powered Backs Innovations in Early Education

Battery Powered Backs Innovations in Early Education

We started Battery Powered because we knew we could be better together. And this fall, one year since the program launched, we’re proud of how far we’ve come as a community.

During our latest theme, Early Childhood Education, Battery Powered members gave nearly $1.5 million to innovative projects that can give more children the best possible start to life. That makes it our biggest theme to date.

Learn more about these incredible projects, now poised to reach their full potential with support from Battery Powered:

About the Award
Battery Powered Awardees receive more than money. In addition to a fully funded project, they get special recognition in The Battery space and will be featured as winners on the Battery Powered online platform. Along with publicity opportunities and the endorsement of the Battery Powered membership, this award signals the beginning of an ongoing relationship with the organizations, who will be invited back to the club to share their progress and meet with members who might want to go further with their support. The membership is taking a “once an awardee, always an awardee” approach. That means the community will be hearing more from these wonderful organizations in the future, so stay tuned!

Allocation Night Film Preview: Battery Powered Views
We celebrated Allocation Night with a screening of our Early Education mini documentary, the latest installment of the Battery Powered Views film series. You can watch the mini documentary, Early Childhood Education, here:

We are thrilled that this theme has connected us to so many Bay Area leaders who are shaping the future of early childhood education and creating opportunities for healthy development and lifelong learning.

Because as Dr. Nadine Burke Harris says so well in the film, “If every child had access to a healthy start, this world would look dramatically different.”

About the Film: Early Childhood Education
What if we could give all children a strong start to life? How would our neighborhoods, our communities and our entire world be transformed for the better? This film celebrates the unbounded potential of early childhood. It follows the story of leading Bay Area organizations and the young learners they serve and shows how we can all contribute to a brighter future. Learn more about the theme here.
